GA Foods is seeking to hire a Seasonal Route Delivery Driver for our St. Petersburg location. This is a temporary seasonal position designed to support increased operational needs during peak periods. Employment is expected to last for a defined season or project timeframe, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

Our Seasonal Route Delivery Drivers are responsible for delivering ready made, hot and or frozen shelf stable meals to senior citizens and other at risk populations according to an assigned route. Compassion and empathy for those in need is a fundamental orientation our most successful team members possess.

Responsibilities

Safe delivery of food items and supplies to customer homes and sites in a timely and accurate manner
Vehicle upkeep and cleanliness
Maintain food safety and handling procedures in compliance with temperature requirements
Report any deficiencies or problems to supervisor promptly
Maintain driver scorecard and other required recordkeeping
Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain service records
Check vehicle fluid levels and perform general routine inspection of vehicle to ensure all is in working order
Assist with packing and or storing of food items, components and or supplies as required
Regular attendance required to ensure customer deliveries can be accomplished as scheduled during the seasonal assignment
Other duties as assigned by management

Experience

Valid Driver License with no DUI in the last 5 years and 0 to 4 current points
Good communication and customer service skills
General office equipment and basic computer experience
Experience using GPS and tablet technology
Minimum 3 years prior route delivery or distribution experience preferred
ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred

Physical Demands

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Taste or smell
One third to two thirds of the time use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
Over two thirds of the time sit, see, talk or hear
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

Work is performed outdoors and inside a vehicle
Regular exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow
This seasonal position follows a standard weekly schedule; however, weekend work may be required based on business needs during peak season
