What You'll Do
The role serves as a subjectmatter expert and strategic partner to Investments, Finance, ERM, and Valuation, with responsibility for complex modeling frameworks, assumption governance, and crossfunctional initiatives. The individual is expected to operate independently at a senior level, influence decisions, and communicate results to actuarial leadership and risk committees.
This position is expected to interact broadly across all areas of the organization and serve as a coach and mentor to less experienced actuaries. The role will assist in planning and organizing both short and longterm activities necessary to achieve established goals and is expected to stay current on emerging trends, regulatory developments, and market dynamics impacting the life insurance and annuity business.
- Lead asset model conversion initiatives, including development, enhancement, governance, and maintenance of asset and liability models supporting all lines of life insurance and annuities
- Utilize asset projection platforms such as BondEdge and/or Bloomberg, and actuarial modeling tools such as MGALFA or Slope, to support modeling and analysis
- Ensure models support multiple use cases, including Valuation, Corporate Planning, Investment Analysis, Cash Flow Testing (CFT), PrincipleBased Reserving (PBR), Reinsurance, and Capital Projections
- Lead AssetLiability Management (ALM) valuations, including CFT and capital projections, ensuring consistency across asset and liability modeling frameworks
- Monitor and incorporate evolving actuarial standards and regulatory changes into modeling and valuation processes
- Partner with Investments, Finance, ERM, Valuation and IT to ensure alignment across modeling frameworks, assumptions, and risk assessments
- Clearly communicate complex actuarial results and recommendations to actuarial leadership, senior management, and risk committees, translating technical analysis into actionable insights
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to lessexperienced actuaries, promoting sound actuarial practices and knowledge sharing

Basic Required Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex results
- Proficient in Excel, SQL, and/or Microsoft Access, with experience programming, testing, and enhancing actuarial or financial reporting processes
- Advanced experience with actuarial modeling platforms such as MGALFA, Slope, or similar tools
- Experience using asset projection and analytics platforms such as BondEdge and/or Bloomberg
- Working knowledge of insurance regulations, including asset adequacy testing, RBC requirements, and PrincipleBased Reserving
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements, learn company systems and actuarial methodologies efficiently, and collaborate effectively across departments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) Designation or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of eight years’ experience in the actuarial field. Life Insurance and/or annuity experience preferred
