| Shift | Primarily day shift Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00 pm, however as an exempt-level position, additional hours may be required as needed to perform job duties. This is a remote position. |
| Job Summary | The HIM Manager functions as a flexible role with the ability to adjust to the business needs of the department to maintain cross-coverage in different functional areas of HIM. Common responsibilities include: Manages all aspects of the team, including but not limited to scheduling, time management, workflow, productivity, reporting, work queue management, dashboard management, performance management and turnaround time. Specific responsibilities include: Plans, oversees and manages the Data Integrity/Chart Correction team. Ensures the integrity of the medical record relating to overlays of records and duplicate medical record numbers. Facilitates the chart correction process with end users by following regulatory and TJC requirements. Plans, oversees and manages the physician workroom and chart analysis teams, ensuring completeness of medical records consistent with regulatory and TJC requirements. Participates in the Forms Management process. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact HIM Data Integrity and chart completion. Reviews and updates policies and procedures that are aligned and comply with hospital and department policies. The is an IEBC being considered. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will be proficient in MS Office applications including MS Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic medical record experience. |
