Responsibilities

• General Molecular Biology
• Low throughput prokaryotic protein production and purification
• High throughput prokaryotic protein production and purification
• Eukaryotic protein production and purification
• General lab duties

The person will:

• Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
• Require occasional guidance;
• Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies;
• Rarely modify technical procedures;
• Rarely train other lab members;
• Rarely guide other lab members;
• A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
• Occasionally analyze data;
• Rarely interpret data;
• Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.*

Qualifications

• Bachelors in a Related Science required or equivalent skills and experience required. M.S. strongly preferred.
• 0-2 years experience required, 1 to 2 years in general lab work and cell culture preferred.
• Background in Molecular Biology a plus.
• Experience with protein production and purification, general molecular biology experience, including experience with various plasmid construction techniques (traditional restriction digestion/ligation, InFusion, Ligation independent Cloning), PCR.
• Experience in using laboratory automation in molecular biology is advantageous.
