Position Summary:

A nursing faculty member will be responsible for curriculum, instruction (classroom, lab, and clinical), and will be an integral part of the student's educational experience. The faculty member will provide engaged instruction; develop curricula; conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessment; and advise and support students. A faculty member will engage in professional work to advance the departments mission. Average workload: 12 15 workload units.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and clinical expertise in teaching assigned nursing courses (clinical and didactic).

  • Collaboratively works with faculty, students, and staff in facilities to ensure positive clinical learning experiences for student nurses.

  • Provides student advisement, holds weekly office hours and counsels student advisees as needed.

  • Assumes leadership roles with faculty in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of curriculum.

  • Communicate with department chair and colleagues regarding student issues and progression in the program.

  • Seeks leadership roles within the nursing program, College of Aviation, Science and Nursing, and University committees.

  • Engages in scholarship and service to forward the discipline of Nursing.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Master of Science in Nursing (Candidates enrolled in an MSN program may be considered, completion date must be within 1 year of hire date) .

Terminal nursing degree preferred .

Teaching experience preferred.
