About This Position
At In Flight, Inc., we empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for hopes and dreams and support a meaningful quality of life. We provide person centered support within residential homes and the community.
The Associate Director of Residential Services oversees seven Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) programs across Columbia County and reports to the Director of Residential Services. Ensuring high quality, person centered supports to all individuals within the Residential Program. The office is located in Red Hook there is an agency vehicle available for use to travel to locations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social science, or administration preferred will accept equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• Three years of progressive management experience, including two years of experience managing in a Residential program supporting people with a developmental disability.
• Knowledge of OPWDD residential service delivery systems.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Development:
• Weekly coaching and mentoring meetings with managers. Review day to day operations of the IRA and guidance on staffing and education on policies and procedures.
• Provide feedback with performance plans or retraining as needed and prepare and submit manager evaluations.
• Work closely with the Human Resource Department to support professional development of managers.
Operations and Oversight:
• Will be required to work 2 evenings a week and 1 weekend a month pop in visits to provide guaranteeing the health, safety and person centered services are being held to agency standards.
• Will work closely with the Director and VP of Residential to supervise and support managers, to complete required administrative tasks and to actively participate in the planning and delivery of program services to each residence.
• In the absence or vacancy of a Residential Manager, the ARD will oversee the IRA until a manager is appointed.
• Makes sure the partnership between the IRA Manager Nursing and Clinical Department is working so that all individuals’ health, mental health, and medication management are being followed per Doctor’s orders.
• Ensure homes are following proper fiscal procedures; verify houses are managed within budgetary parameters set forth by agency including food, household maintenance, staffing.
• Ensure managers are prepared for internal and external audits, ensure documentation is complete and up to date and that they are responsive to audits findings within required time frame.
• Participate in necessary committee meetings such as Admissions/Discharge, HRC, IRC, Operations and any other as required or needed.
• Carry out special assignments, prepare reports, and oversee other projects as directed.
Requirements:
• Valid NYS driver’s license
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• Proficiency with Therap, Medicaid billing processes, and payroll systems
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends
