About This Position

Neuropsychology Technician

Job Summary: The Neuropsychology Technician will be responsible for administering and scoring standardized cognitive tests and managing patient data under the supervision of a neuropsychologist (licensed psychologist) in an academic medical center. This role is pivotal in helping to provide accurate assessments for patients with neurological and cognitive disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Test Administration: Administer a variety of neuropsychological tests and questionnaires to patients under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Ensure tests are conducted in a consistent and professional manner.
  • Test Scoring: Score neuropsychological tests; ensure scoring is accurate and adhere to established protocols based on manual- or software-based instructions.
  • Data Collection & Management: Collect and manage patient data, including test results and questionnaires. Ensure all data is accurate, confidential, and securely stored. Maintain records of test administration and behavioral observations. Prepare score summary sheets that include raw and normed test scores.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the neuropsychologist, clinical staff, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care. Perform other appropriate duties as assigned (e.g., preparing patient files, scanning).
  • Compliance: Adhere to all ethical guidelines, legal requirements, and institutional policies related to patient confidentiality and data protection.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of testing experience as a Neuropsychology Technician, Psychometrician or Psychometrist, required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field.

Licenses / Certifications: N/A

Other:

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in test administration and data entry.
