Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its finance team. ACCOUNTABILITIES/ SCOPE
Interfaces: The Staff Accountant will regularly interface with department managers, and operations leaders. Collaboration with the finance, purchasing, and production teams is essential to ensure financial integrity and alignment across departments.
Decisions: This position exercises independent judgment within established accounting policies and procedures. The Staff Accountant is responsible for identifying discrepancies, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Complex or strategic decisions are escalated to the VP of Finance for review.
Impact of Error: Errors in judgment or financial reporting could result in inaccurate financial statements, audit findings, or regulatory noncompliance. Such inaccuracies may impact management decision-making, financial performance, and overall business operations. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is critical to the success of this role.
Requirements:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up vendors in ERP system (SyteLine)
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing, including account reconciliations, with public company compliance parameters
- Streamline financial management of vendor set-up, processing of incoming invoices and reconciling with vendors
- Assist with the preparing of statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, adhering to internal controls (SOX Compliance) and compliance filings.
- Analyzing expense variances against budgets
- Maintaining general ledgers, tracking and reconciling simple and complex transactions
- Provide analytical and strategic insights
- Process and Reconcile Payroll, provide support to HR for payroll off-cycle needs.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, explanations and ensuring compliance with SOX requirements
- Assist with budgets, forecasting and variance reports
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve efficiency in the accounting department
- Manage daily financial operations, working with AP/ AR clerk on the team
- Monitor aging of AP and AR balances and alert supervisor of issues
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS
• Exceptional ability to think critically and make decisions based on data analysis.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders.
• Proficient desktop computer skills in the MS office environment, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
• Proficiency in accounting software Syteline is highly desirable, and knowledge of other systems, preferred
• Well-acquainted with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with relevant certifications like Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Preferred)
• Passion for numbers and competence in assessing larger datasets.
• Aptitude for mathematics, statistics, and various cost analysis techniques.
• Willingness to work in a team or individually, as required.
• Be well organized with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a Public Company setting.
