Counter Sales Associate in St Louis, Missouri at K&K Supply Company Inc

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Counter Sales Associate to assist customers with

equipment rentals, tool sales, parts, and supply purchases. This role requires strong communication,

organizational, and multitasking skills to manage transactions, inventory, and customer interactions in a fastpaced environment.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales:

• Assist customers in identifying and purchasing the right equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for their projects.
• Recommend appropriate products and accessories to meet customer needs.
• Confirm rental durations with customers and ensure accurate scheduling.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by always acknowledging customers, even while multitasking.

Transaction & Inventory Management:

• Process cash, credit card, and check transactions accurately.
• Maintain stock levels by ensuring products are filled, organized, and stored properly.
• Ensure that no inventory or equipment leaves on an open reservation or without proper documentation unless approved by management.
• Accurately handle equipment exchanges and complete all necessary exchange forms.
• Record missed rentals and rental duration changes, ensuring all discrepancies are documented and resolved.

Operational Excellence & Communication:

• Complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Follow all instructions and tasks assigned by the Counter Sales Manager or Assistant Counter Sales Manager.
• Adhere to company policies and safety procedures, working in a professional manner.
• Follow end-of-day closing procedures to ensure all duties are completed before leaving.
• Maintain clear, professional communication between departments using radio acknowledgment and answer phones promptly.

Workplace Standards:

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the counter, showroom, and tools.
• Work a schedule that includes Monday–Friday with alternating Saturdays and overtime as needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance and friendly demeanor.

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

RENTAL • SALES • SERVICE

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of equipment, tools, and rental operations is a plus.
• Experience handling cash transactions and using point-of-sale systems is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
