Job Description
Rockland Federal Credit Union (RFCU) is seeking a Loss Mitigation Specialist. Reporting to the Financial Assistance Manager, this role manages complex delinquent accounts with a focus on bankruptcy, foreclosure, and loan modification solutions, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and Credit Union standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex delinquent accounts, including bankruptcy, foreclosure, loan modifications, and deceased member processesServe as a resource for team members, handling escalations and supporting day-to-day operationsConduct detailed loan research and partner with internal teams to resolve issuesCommunicate with members to resolve delinquency and establish payment solutionsEvaluate eligibility for loan modifications and manage supporting documentation and timelinesOversee bankruptcy case activity, including filings, reaffirmations, and coordination with legal partnersMaintain accurate documentation of all collection activity and account updatesAct as primary contact for attorneys and vendors, ensuring timely follow-upSupport reporting requirements related to investors and regulatory entities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferredExperience in collections, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, or foreclosureStrong knowledge of delinquency management and regulatory requirementsExperience handling complex and escalated accountsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Schedule and Benefits
As a Loss Mitigation Specialist II, you will work a 40-hour full-time schedule Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, we're pleased to share that the base hourly range for this position is $29.04 - $30.49, excluding fringe benefits or potential incentives. If you're hired at Rockland Federal Credit Union, your final base pay will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
