Job Description
The Stroum Jewish Community Center is looking for a skilled and reliable Senior Facility Maintenance Technician to help keep our campus safe, functional, and welcoming for our community.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with building systems, and taking ownership of day-to-day facility operations. You’ll partner closely with the Facility Manager while also working independently—especially during evening and Sunday coverage—to ensure everything runs smoothly.

What You’ll Do- Support daily building operations and maintenance across SJCC facilities
- Perform routine inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and complete maintenance repairs safely and efficiently
- Assist with preventative maintenance to keep systems running smoothly
- Complete general repairs including carpentry, painting, and light construction
- Support facility improvement projects and upgrades
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors on-site
- Respond to maintenance requests and manage work orders
- Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Assist with upkeep of exterior spaces and grounds
- Participate in on-call coverage as needed

Position pays $26.44 to $31.25 per hour depending on experience

Requirements: What You Bring- 2–4 years of facilities maintenance or building operations experience (preferred)
- Experience with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) strongly preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks in a dynamic environment
- Basic computer skills (email, work order systems)
- Technical or trade training is a plus
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs regularly)
- Occasional pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs
- Work takes place across a variety of environments: offices, fitness areas, mechanical rooms, and outdoors
- Exposure to tools, equipment, and typical maintenance-related conditions
