Position Summary
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides safe, high-quality, and age-appropriate anesthesia care as part of a physician-directed healthcare team. As a member of the medical staff, the CRNA delivers anesthesia services for both medical and surgical patients, performing routine and complex procedures while adhering to evidence-based standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations appropriate to the level of care
- Administer anesthesia for a wide range of procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Accurately document all patient encounters and clinical interventions
- Identify and interpret normal and abnormal findings from labs, imaging, and clinical assessments
- Order and manage appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Demonstrate strong pharmacological knowledge and safe medication administration
- Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare providers
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Monitor patient status and promptly report changes to collaborating physicians
- Advocate for patients and families within scope of practice
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety policies, and regulatory standards
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
- Serve as a mentor, preceptor, and resource for students and staff
- Promote teamwork and maintain positive working relationships across the care team

Qualifications
Required:
- Current Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) license in Maryland (or eligibility to obtain)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland (or eligibility to obtain)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred:
- Prior experience in anesthesia across a variety of surgical settings
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
