About the Role:

The Lead Toddler Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for toddlers to explore and develop foundational skills. This position is responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum that supports cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth. The Lead Toddler Teacher will guide and mentor assistant teachers and collaborate closely with families to ensure each child's individual needs are met. This role requires a deep understanding of early childhood development principles and the ability to create engaging learning experiences that promote curiosity and confidence. Ultimately, the Lead Toddler Teacher contributes to building a strong educational foundation that prepares toddlers for future learning stages.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or educational setting.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of state licensing requirements for early childhood programs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an early childhood education setting.
  • Training or certification in specialized early childhood curricula such as Montessori or Reggio Emilia.
  • Additional certifications related to child development or behavior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans tailored to toddlers’ developmental stages and interests.
  • Create a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
  • Observe and document each child's progress, sharing insights with families and team members.
  • Lead, support, and train assistant teachers and classroom aides to maintain high-quality care and education.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child’s development and address any concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and center policies related to health, safety, and education.
  • Facilitate social and emotional development through guided play, group activities, and positive behavior management.
