Dias Geophysical is seeking a meticulous and assertive Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team. This role is critical to ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, every time. We’re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, owns deadlines, and can navigate the complexities of payroll with precision.

Responsibilities:
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • File federal and provincial source deductions, including EI, CPP, and income tax remittances
  • Administer onboarding and offboarding payroll tasks, including Records of Employment (ROEs)
  • Stay current on changes to Canadian labor laws, employment standards, and wage rates across jurisdictions
  • Track employee time off, banked time, and time in lieu
  • Prepare payroll reporting for government funding programs and internal stakeholders
  • Support audit and compliance requests with clear and accurate documentation
  • Continuously improve payroll procedures and controls
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in end-to-end Canadian payroll processing
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation, etc.)
  • Exceptional attention to detail — errors in this role have real consequences
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet non-negotiable deadlines
  • Assertive communication skills; able to follow up, escalate when needed, and hold others accountable
  • PCP certification (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or working toward it is an asset
  • Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Ceridian, Payworks, or similar is a plus
