Growth Engineer
Location: New York City (in-office)Compensation: $175K - 220k++ base salary, plus equity

The Role
Our client is seeking their first Growth Engineer to design and ship experiments that drive user acquisition, activation, and retention. In this role, you’ll partner closely with product and design to build data-informed features that move key metrics, while aligning with the client’s creative-first brand identity. This is a highly impactful position where you’ll own growth initiatives end-to-end, from concept to measurement.
What You’ll Do

• Rapidly design, implement, and evaluate growth experiments across onboarding, funnels, and viral loops.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure growth initiatives align with the brand’s creative identity.
• Use analytics tools (Posthog or similar) to measure outcomes, track performance, and inform iteration.
• Work across the stack, from frontend UI adjustments to backend instrumentation.
• Establish and shape growth engineering best practices as the first hire dedicated to this area.

Requirements

• Creative Tools Expertise: Proficient in at least three creative tools or has built one before.
• Growth Experience: Strong track record of shipping rapid experiments, running A/B tests, and driving measurable growth.
• Analytics Skills: Proficiency with Posthog or comparable quantitative tracking tools.
• Full-Stack Comfort: Ability to move between frontend and backend tasks with ease.
• Frontend Strength: Advanced skills in React, JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, CSS, and modern build systems (Webpack, ES6, etc).
• Backend Familiarity: Experience with Node.js and production JavaScript backends.
• Experience: 5+ years in engineering roles, ideally with exposure to growth/product engineering.
