Scrub Technician - 4 day work week! at Citizens Memorial – Bolivar, Missouri

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room at the main hospital in Bolivar, Missouri! CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities, and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, rehab therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

About the department: The OR consists of 23 active surgeons who perform an average of 372 surgeries/month. The OR has 6 out-patient, 3 in-patient, and 1 C-section designated suites that run 4 teams of staff/day. The surgeons work to educate, train, and develop staff to operate fluidly together.

A typical day includes: Having an understanding of the procedure being performed in order to handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary to assist and anticipate the needs of surgical staff throughout the surgery.

• Prepares surgical suite prior to procedure
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures
• Passes instruments and other tools to surgeons during procedures
• Prepares sterile dressing, and secures dressing after incision closure
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
• Assists in prepping room for the next patient

Job Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma required; Applied Science - Surgical Technologist degree preferred
• Experience: New grads welcome; 1 year scrub tech experience preferred
• Skills: Communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Licensure/Certification: Certified as a Surgical Technician, or if not certified, must obtain NBSTSA certification, NCCT or NRST Certified Tech in Surgery within 36 months of employment; or must be licensed as a practical or registered nurse
• Physical: Standing/walking for long periods of time, ability to lift and move patients and equipment, good manual dexterity and visual acuity

The position is: Full-time, working 4 10-hour shifts a week - 7am-5:30pm!
