About This Position
Overview of Department:
The hours of operation are 5am Monday-10 pm Friday. The Ambulatory Cardiac Unit consists of a total of 18 beds. 10 are private ambulatory non-monitored patient rooms, and 8 private ambulatory telemetry monitored patient rooms. The 8 monitored patient rooms are reserved for patients that meet criteria for short stay/observation status as determined by Cardiology and Vascular Medical Staff leadership. Typical observation population include post procedure percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac ablation, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and minor vascular procedures.
Staffing consists of registered nurses and a non-licensed patient care technician. The Ambulatory Cardiac Unit provides care to the adult cardiac and vascular outpatient ambulatory population and the adult cardiac and vascular post procedure short stay population. This unit collaborates with other Aultman Deuble Heart and Vascular hospital departments to streamline care and provide efficient quality care to the cardiovascular outpatient and cardiac short stay/observation status patient.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical leadership and direction of patient care, provide patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
