Robotic Welding Operator in Lake In The Hills, Illinois at Direct Dimension LLC

POSITION SUMMARY

Direct Dimension is seeking a Robotic Welding Operator that would be responsible for operating and monitoring the robotic welding cell to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This position loads and unloads parts, performs basic fit-up and tack welding, monitors weld quality, performs routine inspections, and supports production objectives while maintaining established quality and safety standards.

This role is ideal for individuals with welding and manufacturing experience who are interested in automation and advanced manufacturing technology.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

ROBOTIC WELDING OPERATIONS

· Operate and monitor robotic welding equipment

· Load and unload parts into welding fixtures

· Start, monitor, and verify robotic welding cycles

· Inspect completed weldments for quality and conformance

· Identify and report equipment issues, weld defects, or production concerns

· Maintain production flow to meet daily schedules, hourly production goals and customer requirements

TACK WELDING & FIT-UP

· Perform basic tack welding to prepare components for robotic welding

· Verify proper part alignment and fixture setup

· Ensure materials are properly stages and ready for production

· Assist with fixture adjustments as needed

QUALITY ASSURANCE

· Conduct visual inspections of completed weldments

· Verify dimensions and quality requirements

· Complete production and quality documentation as required

· Support continuous improvement initiatives

SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING

· Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

· Maintain a clean and organized work area

· Report unsafe conditions immediately

· Participate in safety meetings and training

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications

· Manufacturing or production experience

· Basic welding knowledge and experience

· Ability to read tape measures and basic shop drawings

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

· strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred Experience

· Robotic welding experience

· MIG welding experience

· Experience working in metal fabrication or welding environments

· Ability to troubleshoot basic robotic welding issues

· Forklift experience
