Job Description
The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Talent Acquisition Manager position within our Human Resources Department located at 150 Henry Ave in Winnipeg, MB. The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for managing the sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of employees within the Manitoba Metis Federation. The Talent Acquisition Manager develops, implements, and evaluates recruitment initiatives, programs and procedures and provides recommendations to management. Remuneration will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
Job Duties/Competencies:
- Manage full cycle recruitment, including identifying staffing needs, developing job descriptions, posting ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews and reference checks, and preparing job offers;
- Coordinate the hiring process, orientation, and training of all new staff within the recruitment portfolio;
- Prepare and submit employee performance appraisals for staff assigned to the recruitment portfolio;
- Delegate responsibilities as required ensuring even work distribution amongst staff;
- Provide the necessary support, direction, and assistant to staff assigned to the recruitment portfolio;
- Revise, maintain, and organize databases with potential candidates and recruitment metrics;
- Provide updates and reports to the Director and Minister(s);
- Research and attend job fairs and recruit graduates of educational institutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Certificate in Human Resources Management or related discipline;
- Minimum of three years’ of experience in human resources;
- CPHR Designation is an asset;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and quick turnaround;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
- Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
- Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
- Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
- Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
