We are seeking strong, compassionate leaders to join our team and help us continue enriching the lives of older adults through exceptional care and a vibrant community.

The Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, safety, and appearance of the campus. This role oversees preventive maintenance, building systems, grounds, environmental safety, vendor relationships, and regulatory compliance to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The Maintenance Director leads the maintenance and housekeeping team, manages departmentalprojects, responds to work orders and emergencies, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of all buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Manage maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with life safety, OSHA, IDPH, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee capital improvement projects and department budgets.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.

Requirements: Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or commercial facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and general maintenance.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, vendor management, budgeting, and capital improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, fire and life safety regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Experience with IDPH, CMS, or long-term care regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a maintenance team while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations outside of regular business hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands associated with facility maintenance, including walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
