The Senior Manager/Director, Tax - Insurance will oversee insurance tax services, provide technical leadership, manage client engagements, and contribute to the continued growth of the insurance tax practice.
- Lead and mentor a team of insurance tax professionals, supporting their professional development and technical growth.
- Manage client relationships and contribute to expanding the practice through strong service delivery and trusted advisory partnerships.
- Develop new business relationships and identify opportunities to increase practice revenue.
- Serve as a technical resource for complex insurance tax matters, providing guidance and expertise to internal teams and clients.
- Perform tax research and advise insurance clients on tax matters, planning strategies, and special projects.
- Oversee tax compliance activities for life, non-life, and captive insurance clients.
- Supervise the preparation, review, and delivery of federal and state corporate insurance income tax returns.
- Support insurance-focused tax planning strategies and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends, legislative developments, and technical changes while educating team members and clients.
- Manage multiple client engagements and projects while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and client service.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver effective solutions in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
The successful candidate will combine extensive insurance tax experience with strong leadership capabilities, client relationship skills, and technical expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Active CPA license required.
- 10+ years of experience in public accounting or a corporate/public accounting environment.
- Previous experience in corporate taxation and insurance tax matters required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance industry tax compliance, including life, non-life, and captive insurance entities.
- Proven leadership experience managing client service teams and multiple complex projects.
- Ability to provide technical guidance, perform tax research, and develop practical solutions for clients.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, client-focused professional environment.
- Competitive base salary range of $142,000 – $192,000, based on skills, experience, location, education, certifications, and other business factors.
