Isuzu North America Corporation is seeking a motivated Safety Coordinator to join our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team at our new manufacturing facility in Piedmont, SC. This role is ideal for a safety professional who is passionate about creating a safe workplace, building strong relationships with employees, and supporting a world-class manufacturing operation.
As a Safety Coordinator, you'll be a visible presence on the production floor, partnering with employees and leadership to promote a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
What You'll Do- Conduct daily safety inspections and facility audits
- Identify hazards and assist with corrective action implementation
- Respond to workplace incidents and support accident investigations
- Assist with OSHA recordkeeping and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate and deliver employee safety training and new hire orientation
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and Emergency Response Team activities
- Monitor contractor safety and PPE compliance
- Maintain safety documentation, training records, and inspection reports
- Assist with environmental programs including waste management, spill prevention, and chemical safety
- Promote continuous improvement and employee engagement in workplace safety initiatives
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or related field
- Two or more years of manufacturing or industrial experience
- Previous Environmental, Health & Safety experience
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- Forklift Trainer
- HAZWOPER Awareness
- ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 Internal Auditor
- ASP or CHST
This position requires frequent walking throughout a large manufacturing facility, standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work in both office and industrial environments while wearing required PPE.
