Job Description
Position Title: Staffing Coordinator
Position Summary: Responsible for maximizing the potential of the automated nurse scheduling program, maintaining accurate database in scheduling system, and working with the Clinical Directors to create and generate work schedules for all unit staff. Responsible for coordinating the scheduling of the employees to meet unit and individual needs while maintaining the integrity of the schedule. Collaborates with the PRN staff and the Mobile Resource Pool to assist with pre-assignments and scheduling. This will require flexible hours and after-hours contact with employees.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for maximizing the potential of the automated nurse scheduling program, maintaining accurate database in scheduling system, and working with the Clinical Directors to create and generate work schedules for all unit staff.
- Responsible for coordinating the scheduling of the employees to meet unit and individual needs while maintaining the integrity of the schedule.
- Collaborate with the PRN staff and the Mobile Resource Pool to assist with pre-assignments and scheduling.
- This will require flexible hours and after-hours contact with employees.
- Develops creative solutions to address ongoing concerns/challenges as they arise in the scheduling arena.
- Works independently to meet the criteria of the position, with the understanding that if input/problem-solving is required, that the Staffing Coordinator will seek this input from appropriate Director.
- Performs other duties as needed, and as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree in related field preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of two-years recent hospital and or scheduling experience required.
- Prior experience working with Shift Wizard preferred.
Skills:
- Strong PC skills Required.
- Knowledge of staff scheduling.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Must be self-directed and work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer and Power Point with samples and testing required specifically on Word and Excel.
- Exemplary core customer skills strongly required.
- Strong verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in all situations required.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Strong ability to manage high volume multi-line phone system required with specific phone/hold/call back skills required.
