Description:

Key ResponsibilitiesIT Support Specialist

  • Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues across endpoints, servers, and infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving:
    • Windows OS, applications, and enterprise endpoints
    • Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint)
    • Identity and access issues (Entra ID / Active Directory)
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions, not just quick fixes
  • Provide remote and on-site support across corporate and production environments

Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Troubleshoot and maintain network infrastructure including:
    • Switches, VLANs, routing, and segmentation
    • Wired and wireless (WiFi) networks
    • Firewall configuration and monitoring
  • Diagnose performance issues, latency, outages, and connectivity problems
  • Support hybrid infrastructure spanning:
    • On-prem systems and data center equipment
    • Azure cloud networking (VNets, VPNs, NSGs)
  • Assist in network design improvements and optimization

Server & Virtualization Management

  • Support and maintain:
    • Windows Server and Linux systems
    • Hyper-V virtual environments
  • Perform system provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management
  • Monitor server performance and availability
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades and migrations

Cloud Platforms & Endpoint Management

  • Administer and support:
    • Microsoft 365 tenant (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
    • Azure services (compute, networking, identity, RBAC)
    • Microsoft Intune (device enrollment, policies, compliance, endpoint security)
  • Troubleshoot identity synchronization and access issues
  • Support conditional access, MFA, and device compliance policies

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Enforce and support security best practices:
    • Endpoint protection (Defender, third-party tools)
    • Firewall rules and network segmentation
    • Vulnerability remediation and patching
  • Monitor systems for security threats and anomalies
  • Participate in incident response and remediation efforts
  • Ensure adherence to company security policies and standards

Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Manage and support backup platforms (e.g., Veeam, cloud backups)
  • Perform backup validation and restore testing
  • Support disaster recovery procedures and failover scenarios
  • Ensure data integrity across systems and platforms

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell preferred) to automate routine tasks
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
  • Leverage AI tools (including Microsoft Copilot) to enhance IT operations
  • Contribute to system standardization and documentation

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain accurate documentation of:
    • Systems, configurations, and processes
    • Troubleshooting steps and resolutions
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base and standard operating procedures

Project & Cross-Functional Support

  • Assist with IT projects (ERP, infrastructure upgrades, cloud migration)
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and leadership teams
  • Provide technical input on system design and architecture decisions

Requirements:

Required Qualifications Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, WiFi, firewalls)
    • Windows Server and desktop environments
    • Virtualization (Hyper-V preferred)
    • Microsoft 365 administration
    • Azure cloud services
    • Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Management
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices

Experience

  • 5+ years in IT support, infrastructure, or systems administration
  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex, multi-system issues
  • Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical)
  • Ownership mindset—drives issues to resolution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications (preferred but not required):
    • Microsoft (Azure, M365, Security)
    • Network certifications (CCNA or equivalent)
  • Experience with:
    • PowerShell scripting and automation
    • Security tools (Defender, SIEM, endpoint protection)
    • ERP systems (e.g., Epicor/Kinetic)
  • Exposure to manufacturing or production environments

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: $36.00 - $43.25 an hour
