BILINGUAL SPANISH
Full-Time (Clinic Environment 22 Specialties)
***Shift can start as early as 7:30am or as late as 9:00am
7:30am-4:00pm, 8:30am-5:30pm, or 9:00am-6:00pm- MUST be available for all three shifts.
Compensation: $19.50-$26.00
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

Position Purpose:
The primary role of a Medical Assistant is to provide high quality clinical care under the direction of a physician or licensed health care professional. The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical support to health care providers to ensure an efficient workflow.
Essential Functions:
- Takes patients’ vital signs; prepares patients for examinations, giving them instructions based upon the reason for the visit
- Performs initial interviews with new patients, obtaining pertinent medical history information for use by the healthcare provider during examinations.
- Assists health care provider with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Obtains consent for procedures as necessary.
- Keeps inventory and orders a monthly supply of immunizations through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program as well as private stock vaccines.
- Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures.
- Monitors and restocks supplies; ensures proper functioning of equipment. Notifies supervisor of malfunctioning equipment and completes corrective action log.
- Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT) and EKGs in accordance with established standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Administers immunizations and injections as ordered by the healthcare provider and records appropriately in the medical record. Responsible for proper storage of immunizations.
- Assists health care providers with patient education pertaining to their ongoing healthcare; laboratory and radiology orders, diet and exercise, procedure/surgery preparation.
- Works with a multidisciplinary team to carry out successful treatment plans.
- Assists in screening telephone calls for referral to a nurse, provider, or physician.
- Follows prescription refill procedures.
- Performs administrative duties such as assisting the physician/provider in completing school and sports physicals, patient disability and workers' compensation forms.
General Job requirements:
- Diploma or Degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- CPR Card Required
- Excellent documentation skills (including grammar, spelling and punctuation)
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service and telephone etiquette skills in a consistent manner
- Bilingual English/Spanish – preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Must be comfortable with direct patient contact
- 1–3 years related experience in a doctor's office preferred
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail are required.
- Office administrative skills with knowledge of billing procedures preferred
