Location: 5701 S Wood St, Chicago, IL 60636 - Southwood Interventions
Monday - Friday (9:00 am - 5:00pm)
What you'll do
Perform blood draws and other lab-related procedures on patients in a professional and courteous manner.
Verify patient identities and maintain accurate records of all procedures performed.
Educate patients on the collection process, specimen handling, and storage.
Accurately label and package specimens for transport, ensuring proper handling.
Communicate effectively with lab staff, management, and other healthcare professionals.
Adhere to safety protocols, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials, in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and lab policies.
Engage in ongoing training and development related to phlebotomy, lab procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a phlebotomy program or certification preferred.
Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Flexibility to work independently and accommodate a fixed schedule.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Manual dexterity for blood draws and other lab procedures.
Visual acuity for reading labels, forms, and documents.
Ability to work in various environments, including potential exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
Experience:
Phlebotomy: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred)
