Position Overview
The One 23 Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide hands-on HR support to employees, managers, and company leadership across the full employee lifecycle. This role combines practical people operations support with strong execution across employee relations, HR operations, performance management, benefits, compliance, workforce reporting, and talent initiatives.
The Human Resources Generalist will maintain accurate employee data and workflows in Paylocity and work closely with Payroll, Finance, Recruiting, IT, Security, Program Management, and other corporate teams to ensure HR actions are timely, consistent, well documented, and supportive of a growing federal contracting organization.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnership & Employee Relations
· Serve as a day-to-day HR partner to employees and managers on policies, workplace concerns, performance expectations, employee development, and general HR matters.
· Support employee relations matters by gathering information, maintaining appropriate documentation, coordinating next steps, and helping ensure consistent and professional resolution.
· Partner with leadership and managers on promotions, transfers, organizational changes, workforce needs, employee communications, and other people-related initiatives.
Employee Lifecycle, HR Operations & Paylocity
· Manage HR activities across onboarding, employee changes, leave events, promotions, transfers, and offboarding, coordinating with Recruiting, Payroll, Finance, IT, Security, and managers as needed.
· Maintain accurate employee records, organizational data, compensation changes, manager relationships, acknowledgments, workflows, and reporting within Paylocity.
· Coordinate employee status and compensation changes with Payroll and Finance and help resolve timekeeping, labor-related, deduction, and employee data issues.
· Maintain organized personnel records, HR calendars, employee documentation, recurring workflows, and process trackers; identify opportunities to improve and automate HR processes.
Performance, Talent & Employee Experience
· Coordinate the performance management cycle, including goal setting, review launches, manager and employee communications, completion tracking, and supporting documentation.
· Support employee development, performance improvement, talent reviews, promotions, succession discussions, and other workforce development activities.
· Partner with Recruiting and hiring managers on job descriptions, requisitions, interview support, offers, and the transition from candidate selection through onboarding.
· Support employee engagement, retention, recognition, internal communications, and other initiatives that strengthen the employee experience and company culture
Benefits, Leave & HR Compliance
· Support employee benefits administration, annual open enrollment, qualifying life events, benefit questions, and coordination with benefit providers, brokers, and Payroll.
· Coordinate employee leave requests and related documentation in accordance with company policy and applicable requirements.
· Maintain and administer HR policies, handbook provisions, required employee acknowledgments, personnel records, and employment documentation.
· Support employment compliance, federal contractor workforce reporting, internal reviews, audits, and other HR documentation requirements through accurate records, calendars, and supporting files.
Workforce Reporting & Continuous Improvement
· Prepare recurring workforce reporting and analytics, including headcount, turnover, hiring activity, retention, employee changes, performance completion, and other key HR metrics.
· Identify workforce trends and recurring employee or manager issues and provide practical observations and recommendations to leadership.
· Improve HR workflows, documentation, reporting, and Paylocity utilization to increase consistency, responsiveness, compliance, and scalability.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· Approximately 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, People Operations, or similar role.
· Hands-on experience across multiple HR disciplines, including employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, benefits, HR operations, policy administration, and employee support.
· Demonstrated experience advising managers and employees on day-to-day HR matters, performance issues, workplace concerns, and employee documentation.
· Experience using an HRIS to maintain employee data, manage workflows, produce reports, and support HR processes with a strong focus on data accuracy and confidentiality.
· Strong communication, judgment, organization, Excel, reporting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
· Hands-on experience with Paylocity, including employee records, onboarding, workflows, benefits, performance management, reporting, or related HR functionality.
· Experience supporting a small or mid-sized federal government contractor, professional services company, technology company, or similarly fast-paced environment.
· Experience supporting benefits administration, payroll coordination, leave management, compensation changes, or workforce reporting.
· Familiarity with federal contractor HR compliance, workforce reporting, recordkeeping, audit support, or related requirements.
· PHR, SHRM-CP, or another relevant HR certification is a plus but not required.
