MAINTENANCE MECHANIC in Chicago, Illinois at Sinai Chicago

GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:

Under the general supervision of Supervisor of Facilities Management responsible for performing all phases of general building maintenance per calls received through the work request process. Incumbents are subject to overtime and callback as required by the hospital.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Skill and proficiency to read, write and perform mathematical calculations and measurements as normally acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent.

Basic knowledge of building construction, renovation and repair and general knowledge of the operation of miscellaneous electrical, HVAC/R systems, plumbing, etc. as normally acquired

MINIUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Three years experience in similar environment KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Working knowledge of local, state and national regulations.
• Ability to communicate with Department Heads and Supervisors to exchange information, schedule work, secure information, and provide advice and information on frequent basis.
• Work requires operation or use of the following tools/equipment: standard hand or electrically operated tools, specialized plumbing tools, construction equipment and other portable tools.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Maintains valid Driver’s license.
• Compliant with PPD requirements.
