The Country Club of York (CCY) is hiring a dependable, physically capable Banquet Houseperson to support banquet setup, event setup, room turnover, and event operations. This physically demanding role sets up, resets, and tears down banquet, meeting, and event spaces and requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and independently moving tables, chairs, and event equipment safely under time-sensitive conditions.

What Makes a Great Banquet Houseperson at CCY

· Work independently and efficiently while meeting event timelines and setup standards
· Follow function sheets, room diagrams, and verbal instructions accurately
· Use proper lifting techniques and recognize when an item requires a team lift
· Communicate clearly with Front of House managers, kitchen staff, and other departments
· Adapt quickly as event needs and room configurations change
· Be available for early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional hours as business demands require
What You'll Do
· Set up, reset, and tear down banquet, meeting, and event rooms according to function sheets, room diagrams, verbal instructions, and Club standards
· Independently lift, carry, push, pull, and position tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment, buffet tables, linens, props, and other event materials
· Return furniture, equipment, linens, and supplies to designated storage areas after events
· Load, unload, stack, and organize event furniture, equipment, and supplies safely
· Support banquet and kitchen teams by moving or staging supplies and assisting with meeting breaks
· Clean and maintain banquet spaces, storage areas, and assigned areas inside and outside the clubhouse
· Perform assigned light maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, completing minor paint touch-ups, moving materials, and reporting repair needs
· Safely operate golf carts and utility carts for approved setup, pickup, delivery, and transportation needs on Club property
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Previous experience in banquet setup, event setup, hospitality, event operations, facilities, maintenance, or a related role preferred
· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Ability to interpret function sheets and room diagrams and follow verbal instructions and event timelines
· Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and repeatedly move standard banquet tables, chairs, and event equipment; heavier or oversized items require team lifting
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, push, pull, carry, stack, and perform repetitive lifting for extended periods
· Valid driver’s license preferred for approved golf cart and utility cart operation
