POSITION PURPOSE
Functions as The Manager of EVS responsible for the oversight and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the Saint Anthony Hospital (SAH) Environmental Services (EVS) Department of a single hospital and or multi-site clinics. Monitors patient satisfaction and daily operations of patient, non-patient and public areas to ensure compliance with SAH quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Works to develop and manage program budgets and operating systems in collaboration with the Director of EVS and SAH stakeholders. Works with all stakeholders and peers at SAH. Develops and implements effective cost reduction plans and implementation processes that support Saint Anthony Hospital and the EVS Department's goals, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures. Ensures cost reduction targets and productivity improvement objectives are met, while cultivating service/product quality and patient /customer satisfaction. Ensures the Director of EVS and any SAH stakeholders are kept abreast of issues or problems impacting program efficiencies and effectiveness. Attracts, develops and trains talent to ensure program quality, sustainability, long-term growth, and development. Leads by demonstrating an understanding of, and exemplifying the mission, vision and values of Saint Anthony Hospital.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees the day-to-day management of the EVS Department and ensures program service support objectives are met. Provides a work environment that fosters positive energy, creativity, and teamwork among colleagues across all functional areas. Provides operational and technical support to key stakeholders in support of the overall management of the EVS program. Develops, implements and coordinates within the SAH standardization of policies and procedures related to EVS expense management and operations. As well as the implementation of Saint Anthony Hospital EVS program (Cleaning Practices and protocols, auditing tools, competencies, etc.)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage staff members delegate duties and assign responsibilities, inspect and offer positive & opportunity feedback.
- Manage scheduling and staffing levels to be consistent with budgeted levels.
- Conducts interviews for hiring, ensures proper staff training and performance evaluations, coaches team member for performance improvement and issues discipline as needed.
- Provides staff education and continuous training.
- Communicate with leadership on department needs to improve services. Training in the use of supplies, equipment, chemicals, and MSDS.
- Ensure the safety and security of all patients, guests, and team members by maintaining a clean facility.
- Efficiently administer EVS department within approved budgetary guidelines.
- Work in conjunction with the Director of EVS to manage the department’s financial data maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies.
- In the absent of the Director communicate with vendors, contractors, and regulatory inspectors.
- Meet with departmental leaders as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- At least two to three years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or service-related field with high customer/client contact required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment.
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
- Ability to work a day shift Monday-Friday (for ex: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Be available to work weekends and holidays if needed.
- Be available to come in on off shifts to check on staff.
- Willingness to work a 10 hour day on a regular basis
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
Preferred:
- Associates or Bachelors degree
- Bilingual
