LEAD PERSON--PT Stores (1st shift) in WASHINGTON, Missouri at WEG Transformers USA

PURPOSE:

To assist supervision (in their presence or absence) in ensuring and improving the performance of his/her area. Constantly working to eliminate or reduce all wastes and ensure all operators have everything they need to be safe and productive.

The lead person is usually responsible for work in the stores department.

COMMON DUTIES:

• Ensure all workstations and tools are operation in a safe manner and all operators are following all safety rules.
• Perform duties of normal classification. Must know all jobs in their area and the best standardized work method for each job.
• Coordinate activities of co-workers, based on direction of Front Line Leaders.
• Train and instruct co-workers, in the best standardized work method, by job.
• Assist operators in minor equipment and tooling problems.
• Work to resolve departmental problems and report to supervision.
• Monitor quality level of assigned area, take corrective action on quality problems, wherever possible, and report same and/or corrective suggestions to supervisor.
• Focus on all issues impacting performance today- this is the key to continuous improvement.

The Lead Person will be selected based on demonstrated knowledge, skill, and ability, including:

• Mastery of workstation/jobs in their area (standard adherence, knowledge, trainer and ability to improve standards)
• Organizational and communication skill
• Ability to coach a Continuous Improvement mindset in daily activities
