Job Description

Robotics Solutions Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Robotics Solutions Engineer based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to design and develop advanced robotics solutions that power autonomous systems and real-world applications.
You will work across the full robotics software stack, from sensor integration and perception to motion planning and behavioral systems.
The position combines deep technical engineering with hands-on problem solving in a remote, collaborative environment.
You will contribute to building reliable, production-ready robotic platforms while partnering with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
This is an impactful role for an engineer passionate about robotics innovation, real-time systems, and intelligent automation.
You will also help shape engineering practices through technical leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:

The Robotics Solutions Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing software systems that enable autonomous robotic platforms. The role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration across engineering disciplines, and a focus on delivering scalable, reliable solutions.

  • Develop and maintain robotics software using C++ and Python, ensuring strong performance, reliability, and real-time execution.
  • Design and integrate sensor data pipelines involving cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and other robotic sensing technologies.
  • Implement perception, localization, mapping, SLAM, and sensor fusion solutions to support accurate environmental understanding.
  • Develop motion planning, control, and trajectory generation algorithms that enable safe and predictable robot behavior.
  • Build behavioral systems using state machines, behavior trees, and task planning frameworks.
  • Integrate ROS and ROS 2 frameworks with custom hardware and embedded robotic systems.
  • Implement safety-focused software patterns, including fault detection, watchdog systems, and safe-stop mechanisms.
  • Create simulation environments using tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or similar platforms for testing and development.
  • Support field testing activities, including data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, machine learning, and product teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, including architecture designs, operational procedures, and engineering guidelines.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluate emerging robotics technologies and recommend solutions based on technical maturity, business needs, and long-term value.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong robotics engineering expertise, software development skills, and experience building complex systems that operate reliably in real-world environments.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in robotics software engineering or a similar field.
  • Strong programming proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Hands-on experience developing robotics applications using ROS or ROS 2.
  • Experience with one or more robotics domains, including perception, localization, motion planning, control, or autonomous systems.
  • Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques, including Kalman filters, particle filters, and related estimation methods.
  • Experience working with simulation environments such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities in real-time, concurrent, and hardware-integrated systems.
  • Experience supporting robotics field testing and hardware/software integration.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to document technical concepts clearly and collaborate across teams.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical software standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 is preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning-based perception systems, autonomous vehicles, drones, industrial automation, or open-source robotics projects is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary range of $100,000–$150,000.
  • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • Full-time direct employment opportunity.
  • Opportunity to work on innovative robotics and autonomous technology projects.
  • Collaborative environment with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Career growth opportunities through technical leadership, mentorship, and challenging projects.
  • Professional development opportunities and exposure to emerging robotics technologies.
