- Teach live, synchronous, online undergraduate-level economics courses using engaging, inclusive, and student-centered teaching methods.
- Deliver instruction in foundational economics subjects, including Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics.
- Create a supportive virtual classroom environment that encourages participation, discussion, and active learning.
- Translate complex economic concepts into practical examples and real-world applications that help students develop a strong understanding of the subject.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and respond to academic questions within one to two business days.
- Host weekly office hours to support student learning, engagement, and academic progress.
- Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to manage course activities, improve grading practices, and strengthen student support.
- Evaluate student performance, maintain accurate academic records, and complete required progress evaluations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty discussions, and peer-learning sessions.
- Contribute to broader academic community initiatives, including guest lectures, networking events, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Utilize available training, digital platforms, and AI-powered educational tools to enhance online instruction and learning outcomes.
- Master’s degree required in Economics, Applied Economics, Business, or a related field; candidates with a Master’s degree in another discipline combined with substantial economics teaching experience may also be considered.
- PhD or equivalent advanced degree is welcomed but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of undergraduate college or university-level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience teaching introductory economics courses, including Microeconomics and/or Macroeconomics.
- Strong ability to explain economic theories clearly and connect academic concepts to practical situations.
- Experience teaching in online, synchronous, or hybrid learning environments preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom facilitation skills.
- Comfortable using digital education tools, learning management systems, and video conferencing platforms.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to emerging educational technologies, including AI-supported teaching tools.
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality online education.
- Passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds and helping learners succeed.
- Availability to dedicate approximately 8–10 hours per week per course, with flexibility for training and preparation.
- Competitive compensation:
- $8,000 per 4-credit course per 11-week quarter
- $5,000 per 1–2 credit course per 11-week quarter
