Silver Maples was founded in 1997 with a goal of addressing the needs of active seniors by developing a community which fosters its residents' independence, security, wellness, dignity, privacy, comfort and well-being. There are 17 Independent Living Villas, 77 Independent Living Apartments and 58 Assisted Living Apartments nestled in serene woods on over 17 acres just minutes away from Chelsea's downtown area, fifteen minutes from Ann Arbor and a short drive from Chelsea. Part-Time schedule consists of every Saturday and Sunday 9a-3pm and as needed to fill in for other driver’s vacations or additional activities that include multiple drivers.
Responsible for the transporting of Residents to scheduled appointments as well as unscheduled appointments when available, running special events and outings during the week, evenings and/or weekends.
- Demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
- Transports Residents to special events, trips and activities, which may be during the day, evenings or weekends. Coordinates schedule with both Life Enrichment Director & Assistant Director.
- Physically assists Residents on and off the bus/vehicle safely.
- Operate vehicles equipped with wheelchair ramps and lifts
- Run Activities with limited or no supervision on weekends. Help plan programs for residents with Life Enrichment team.
- Must have the ability to use a computer and smart phone.
- Encourages Residents to attend the activities and builds enthusiasm for the programs. Track attendance for activities.
- Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles.
- All other duties assigned by Life Enrichment Director.
- Demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
- Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing and compassionate personality.
- Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills in the English language, necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members, and the public and for required written documentation or reports.
- Willing to work flexible hours, such as during evenings and weekends for planned activities events.
- Ability to multi-task.
- A high school diploma.
- Operate 14 passenger bus equipped with wheelchair ramps and lifts. CDL license preferred but not required. Training on the job for the right candidate.
- Documented clean driving record.
