About the role

The Accounting Manager reports to the Regional Controller and is responsible for leading daily accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. This role drives process improvements, strengthens internal controls and partners all lines of business to support regional performance.

What you'll do

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Coordination

Lead and coordinate accounting processes across all lines of business and regional management to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingReview deliverables performed by team members and shared services, providing guidance and oversightDevelop, support and mentor members of the accounting teamServe as a key resource and subject matter expert for accounting mattersResolve critical issues, exercise sound judgement and ensure timely communication and escalation when necessaryLead and support continuous process improvements within accounting including identifying opportunities within each line of business through genuine, engaged collaboration with other managersDrive accountability across departments involved in the close and reporting processes

Internal Reporting

Financial Reporting and Month End Close:

Manage the monthly, tertiary and annual close processes in accordance with Electrosonic timelinesPrepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and completenessAnalyze variances and provide actionable insights to managementOversee key close activities:Journal entries, including payroll and accrualsManage monthly accruals in accordance with cut-offs and historical trendsMaintain integrity of subledgers and ensure alignment with the general ledgerEnsure timely preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, including resolution of reconciling itemsManage the allowance for doubtful accountsHandle T&E entry and reconciliationPartner with business teams to review and reconcile inventory accountingProvide backup support across accounting functions as needed

Project Accounting

Manage the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) close process within the ERP systemPartner with business teams to reconcile project level financial resultsEnsure accurate revenue and cost recognition in accordance with company policies

Internal Controls and Compliance

Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reportingEnsure compliance with company policies, GAAP and regulatory requirementsDocument, standardize and continuously improve accounting processes and procedures

ERP:

Support and play a key role in new ERP system implementation and transition Partner with external consultants and internal departments on system design and deployment Lead and coordinate user testing efforts to ensure ERP system functionality before system launchAssist with data migration, process mapping and system configurationIdentify opportunities to improve processes and leverage system capabilities to enhance reporting, controls and operational efficiencyProvide post implementation support, troubleshooting and ongoing optimization of ERP functionality

Accounts Payable:

Monitor A/P aging and reconcile vendor records with general ledgerInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies, and support inquiry resolutionSupport project management with documentation and cost analysis requestsSupervise the Accounts Payable function ensuring vendors are paid in accordance with company policies and guidelines

External Reporting

Audit:

Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual financial audit processPrepare audit schedules and ensure timely completion of audit deliverablesAddress audit findings and ensure year end financials are issued by deadlineSupport both mid-year and year-end audit processesCoordinate with cross functional teams to meet audit requirements

Tax and Filings:

Support corporate federal and state tax filings in coordination with external advisorsFile and remit state sales taxes in compliance with requirementsOversee annual state filings and regulatory reports

Qualifications

Required Skills:

Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills with experience partnering with senior management;Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from all team members equally; senior management to individual contributorsStrong leadership and team development skillsAbility work independently in a structured, deadline driven environmentProactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvementHigh attention to detail and accuracy Experience in accounts payable/receivable and general accountingHigh standards of integrity, professionalism and accountabilityDrive process improvements and automationProject accounting experience a plusAdvanced Excel skills requiredExperience with ERP systems and payroll platformsStrong knowledge of US GAAP

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administrationExperience: Minimum 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience in a small to mid-sized private or public companyCertifications: CPA preferred
