Position Summary

McDaniel Supply Company is seeking a strategic, people-focused Site Manager to lead commissary operations within a detention facility in Charleston, SC. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing and developing staff, ensuring compliance, and driving high standards of service delivery.

The ideal candidate is a principled, effective leader with strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with staff, facility partners, and company leadership. This role combines operational expertise with a commitment to developing a positive, accountable team culture while managing commissary operations and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, coach, and develop staff to achieve performance goals.

• Foster a team culture built on honesty, integrity, respect, and accountability.

• Create and manage staffing schedules.

• Provide ongoing training, feedback, and performance support.

Operational Strategy & Execution

• Oversee commissary operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

• Develop and implement strategic improvements to increase productivity and service quality.

• Ensure adherence to all company policies and facility regulations.

• Maintain business continuity during staffing or operational transitions.

Communication & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary liaison between MSC and facility leadership.

• Maintain strong, professional relationships through consistent communication.

• Address concerns promptly and effectively while maintaining professionalism.

• Respond to grievances and inquiries in alignment with policy and timelines.

Financial Oversight

• Ensure accurate processing and delivery of commissary orders.

• Oversee kiosk fund reconciliation, deposits, and financial accuracy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written).

• Strong leadership presence with a focus on people development and team engagement.

• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical decision-making.

• Ability to think strategically and solve problems effectively.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Experience in correctional or detention environments preferred but not required.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $50,440.00

• Paid bi-weekly.

• Comprehensive benefits package, which may include:

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday: 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (flexible)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day.

• Consistent attendance and reliability required.

• Ability to meet all applicable physical and regulatory standards.
