Shop and Field Mechanic in Fort Worth, Texas at Niece Equipment, LP

Position Summary

The Shop and Field Mechanic is responsible for providing general mechanic services at Niece locations or onsite with customers to ensure efficient service is provided to all internal and external customers.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Performs basic to intermediate automotive repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting diagnoses of equipment malfunctions and failures with little or no direct supervision, at the Niece location or onsite with customers.
• Removes and installs parts, disassembles and assembles components to factory specifications
• Tests, adjusts, and verifies proper operation of all repairs and maintenance
• Prepares and completes all job-related documents, including but not limited to service reports and work orders, efficiently and timely
• Maintains service vehicle inspection records
• Develops a plan for assigned repairs and keeps rework to a minimum
• Adheres to all safety policies and company procedures, including but not limited to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
• Maintains all equipment, tools, and vehicles in good, clean working condition.
• Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area
• Ensures adequate inventory for mechanic service needs, including notifying of inventory reordering needs in a timely manner
• Collaborates with the Service Manager and other internal team members to ensure efficient communications and services are consistently delivered to exceed customer expectations
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical repairs, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicles, trailers, generators, etc.
• Ability to adhere to established safety policies and all required local, state, and federal laws and regulations
• Skill and ability to use diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computer systems
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain precise standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, or related field preferred

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in an equivalent role preferred

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license and related insurance; acceptable driving record
• Must pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
• Must be able to travel to perform job duties onsite with customers
• Must have personal tools; specialized tools will be provided
