Job Description
The Clinical Practice Manager (RN) is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and clinical management of an outpatient physician practice. This position provides leadership and supervision to both clinical and administrative staff while ensuring efficient practice operations, regulatory compliance, high-quality patient care, and exceptional customer service. The Clinical Practice Manager oversees patient access, scheduling, billing processes, budget management, staffing, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical operations. This role serves as the nursing leader for the practice and works collaboratively with providers, staff, and organizational leadership to promote operational excellence and positive patient outcomes.
The Clinical Practice Manager performs within the limits of the organization's Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and is responsible for identifying and reporting compliance concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience required.
- Minimum two (2) years of supervisory, leadership, or management experience in an ambulatory, physician practice, women's health, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of medical office operations, clinical workflows, revenue cycle management, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement principles, patient safety standards, and evidence-based clinical practice.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of the physician practice to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal utilization of provider and staff resources.
- Manage front-office functions including registration, scheduling, insurance verification, charge entry, appointment management, and patient dismissal processes.
- Monitor workflow and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, organizational standards, and regulatory requirements.
Clinical Leadership
- Provide direct oversight of clinical operations within the practice, including patient scheduling, patient triage, and other clinical aspects.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
- Supervise all clinical staff
- Monitor clinical workflows, patient triage activities, medication management, documentation standards, and patient safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols and clinical standards of care.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to staff.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position is primarily located indoors under normal office and ambulatory care practice conditions, with travel required between practice locations as necessary.
Must be able to:
- Remain stationary and work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, squat, and move throughout clinical and administrative areas.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Perform moderately difficult manual tasks including keyboarding, writing, filing, data entry, telephone use, and operation of office and clinical equipment.
- Demonstrate fine motor dexterity sufficient to perform nursing assessments, administer medications, operate clinical equipment, and document patient care when required.
- Perform hand-eye coordination activities involving computer systems, patient care equipment, and medical instruments.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with patients, families, physicians, staff, and external agencies.
- Meet the physical and sensory requirements necessary to respond appropriately to emergency situations.

Salary Range: $36.07-$54.10 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
