Job Description

Andrews Osborne Academy seeks experienced Substitute Teachers. The ideal candidate will be flexible, available on short notice, and enjoy working in an educational community, particularly with students from Pre-K through 12th grade.


Responsibilities


Lower School
  • Conducting the day-to-day lesson plans provided by the teacher
  • Recess duty, bus duty, and car duty (depending on the teacher’s schedule)


Middle and Upper School
  • Conducting the day-to-day lesson plans provided by the teacher
  • If comfortable, advancing the class with teacher permission
  • Taking class attendance and reporting attendance to the proper person
  • Provide a pleasant classroom experience and maintain control at all times
  • Email sub coordinator with any concerns
  • If necessary, provide the teacher with notes on how the day went, indicating whether or not all material was covered in the sub plans


Qualifications
  • Must have a degree in any field
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be willing to split your time between several teachers, if necessary, in a given day
  • Must submit a formal BCI/FBI background check upon completion of an interview
