Job Description

Portfolio Manager IIUltimately this role is accountable for ensuring the safe, reliable, and optimized performance of Solar and EV Charging assets across the fleet. This responsibility is carried out by strategically managing Field Service Partners (FSPs) within the assigned portfolio, driving compliance with contractual requirements, and enforcing Availability and Performance Guarantees. In addition to operational oversight, this role emphasizes building and maintaining strong partnerships with FSPs—ensuring readiness to support portfolio growth while enabling their own business expansion in alignment with ours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Portfolio Manager (PM) must be an excellent communicator with internal stakeholders, clients, vendor partners and facility personnel. Topics of communication may vary by system, issue or region. Areas of communication are:
  • Receiving and distributing updates regarding site maintenance activities, including planned and unplanned service visits.
  • Timely identifying of critical issues to ensure our partners meet contractual SLA’s and any other customer-specific reporting requirements.
  • Validate scope of work, timelines, and material and labor quotes for repairs requiring customer approval. If required, collaborate with Project Management personnel from a variety of sources to assist with long lead times or complex repairs.
  • Expedite and provide updates on approved repairs.
  • Conduct RFP efforts for required services to include electrical, vegetation management, array washing, snow removal and any others.
  • Manage Cases
    • Create service work orders for corrective repairs, as needed.
    • Manage lifecycle of work orders from creation to resolution.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date work order notes within the Work Order Management System, Salesforce.
    • Maintain weekly records of activities in open work orders.
    • Work directly with Subcontractors, Vendors, and Facility Managers to resolve issues.
  • System Maintenance and Repairs
    • Ensure all sites have preventative maintenance activities properly scheduled per the contractual obligations.
    • Oversee that Preventative Maintenance services are completed within the contractual timeframes and that field summary reports are delivered in a timely manner.
    • Identify any additional services needed such as washing and vegetation control. Manage those services to maximize ROI.
  • Perform System and Financial Analytics
    • Analyze system performance and maintain updated performance reports.
    • Identify and determine root cause(s) of underperforming PV systems.
    • Recommend resolutions to address root causes of system underperformance.
    • Report monthly on the status of performance guarantees, if applicable.
    • Maintain current and accurate work order documentation.
    • Manage and Report Site Financials
    • Understand contracts to ensure accurate interpretation of production requirements and associated financial impacts.
    • Report on financial performance, as needed.
    • Report on costs and categorizations related to production losses.

Qualifications and Skills
      • Bachelor’s degree in related area of study (ex: business, renewables, engineering, etc.)
      • 8-12 years of direct experience in solar and/or BESS site operations, asset management
      • preferred.
      • Sound knowledge of safe industrial work practices and commitment to ensuring site safety.
      • Ability to communicate professionally with site owners and subcontractors, via both verbal and written communication.
      • Deep knowledge of solar assets, OEM warranties, RMAs, and service agreements.
      • Proficient at working within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Location: Flexible (hybrid, in-office- Houston, remote)
