Job Function

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining policies and systemic processes to procure and negotiate the supply chain of materials and products to produce an organization’s goods and services. The purchasing department is wholly accountable for the negotiation of fair and market competitive prices with external Suppliers and resource partners to ensure their operating costs are mitigated and maintain their various profit margins.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Purchasing professional accreditation (SCMP, CIPP, CPSM, CPM) of Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in a management capacity (supply chain or mfg.)
  • Demonstrated leadership and management knowledge and execution
  • Advanced technology proficiency – MS Office, ERP or proprietary accounting systems
  • Excellent English fluency, verbal articulation, written and comprehension
  • Strong negotiation & critical-thinking skills
  • Highly competent interpersonal and management skills including coaching, training and performance evaluation and reviews
  • Planning, organizational skills, time management, scheduling, financial analysis, report creation and maintenance
  • Stays abreast and educated on dynamic market and business trends affecting their industry’s supply chain and logistics distribution
  • Attends conferences & trade shows

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish purchasing strategies and activities
  • Manage, coach, train and mentor staff enduring corporate procurement directives and objectives are met and achieved
  • Schedule, monitor and conduct performance reviews, etc
  • Oversee Vendor contract negotiations and maintain partner relationships
  • Ensure inventory turns and supply chain materials are balanced in accordance with factors affecting lead times and supply availability impacting manufacturing throughput
  • Ensure procured items and materials meet the required quality standards and corporate specifications to satisfy ‘brand’ and market commitments
