As Axon continues to expand, we are looking for a motivated, dependable, and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our new Longview, Texas team.

Position Overview

The Medical Assistant will play an important role in supporting our providers and ensuring patients receive an exceptional experience from check-in through completion of their visit.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and committed to accurate documentation and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Welcome and professionally assist patients throughout their visit.
Obtain and document patient medical histories, medications, and vital signs.
Prepare examination rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and procedures.
Assist with patient intake, chart preparation, and clinical documentation.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Ensure charts are properly prepared before patient appointments.
Assist with coordinating referrals, imaging, medical records, and other clinical documentation.
Communicate professionally with patients, attorneys, referring offices, and healthcare providers when appropriate.
Assist with follow-up calls, appointment confirmations, and reducing patient no-shows.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appropriate supplies throughout the clinic.
Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and company policies and procedures.
Assist with maintaining accurate medication and supply documentation.
Communicate patient concerns or changes in condition to the appropriate provider or manager.
Complete assigned clinical and administrative responsibilities accurately and within required timelines.
Participate in daily team huddles and contribute to efficient clinic workflow.
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications

Required:

Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Preferred:

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) certification.
Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Personal Injury, Physical Therapy, or other outpatient medical settings.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience working with EMR systems.
Experience obtaining vital signs and assisting with clinical procedures.
