Responsibilities
The Police Officer ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by providing law enforcement services, responding to emergencies, and enforcing hospital policies and applicable laws. This role supports patient care and operational reliability through proactive patrols, incident response, and community engagement. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academy (OPOTA).Valid Ohio driver's license.Current Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within six months of hire).Non-violent crisis intervention training (required within six months of hire).Firearms qualification (must pass bi-annual qualifications).Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a physical examination certifying fitness for duty, per Ohio Revised Code 124.41.

Qualifications
Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Prior law enforcement or healthcare security experience.
