Position Summary
The Senior Director, Digital Health, AI & Technology Solution Enablement owns the end-to-end strategy, governance, and P&L for embedding innovative and novel digital health, AI, and technology solutions at the site of care — driving patient identification (“patient finding”) and the adoption of NeoGenomics’ new and emerging testing and platform solutions, with durable integration into customer data, clinical workflow, and technology ecosystems.
This role significantly expands the commercial digital health strategy function into a full executive discipline with full ownership of solution design through scaled execution; establishment of an enterprise AI governance framework; ownership of the financial model (P&L) for every digital health and AI initiative; a formal partnership with Business Development to convert pipeline opportunities into a scalable, workflow-integrated roadmap; and the build-out and leadership of a Digital Health Manager team accountable for site-level pull-through, including site-level contracting, workflow activation, and governance forums such as customer and enterprise AI Steering Committees.
The role operates as a senior cross-functional leader and external-facing executive, representing NeoGenomics with health system, payer, technology vendor, and industry stakeholders, and partnering closely with Commercial, Product, Data Science/AI Engineering, Medical Affairs, Managed Care, Finance, Legal/Compliance, and IT/Security to scale innovation responsibly and profitably across the enterprise’s oncology and health system customer base.
Core Responsibilities
- Own the full end-to-end strategy and execution of embedding innovative/novel solutions at the site of care, advancing patient finding and driving adoption of NeoGenomics’ comprehensive portfolio and platform solutions, to complement and enhance our existing customer interface deliverables (EHR, LIS, CGDB, etc.) – responsible for project prioritization roadmap, vendor management and contract negotiation/compliance
- Design, implement, and chair (or co-chair) NeoGenomics’ AI governance framework and internal/customer-facing AI Steering Committees, covering model risk, data privacy, algorithmic bias, clinical validity, and regulatory compliance for every AI-enabled initiative
- Build, own, and manage the P&L for the full Digital Health, AI & Technology Solution Enablement portfolio, including investment business cases, cost management, revenue attribution, ROI, and board/executive-level reporting
- Partner directly with Business Development to build and maintain a roadmap for scaling BD-originated projects, with levers explicitly tied to integration into customer data systems and clinical/operational workflow (EHR, LIS, PHM, and related platforms)
- Build, lead, and develop a team of Digital Health Managers accountable for site-level pull-through of deliverables — including site-level contracting, EHR/LIS/PHM workflow integration, and local AI Steering Committee governance
- Lead engagement with account leads (national and field), CIOs, CMIOs, service line leaders, and technology decision-makers to execute interoperability (establish and maintain), workflow assessment and improvement, care pathways, standardized protocols, and data agreements
- Develop strategies at scale to increase connectivity, integration depth, and revenue within Cancer Centers, IDNs, and health systems across customer platform capabilities
- Partner with Marketing and Managed Care to develop strategies enabling health IT optimization, and to co-develop go-to-market/expansion strategy for digital health and AI-enabled solutions
- Negotiate and structure strategic technology, data, and interoperability partnerships, and support due diligence and integration planning for potential digital health/AI partnerships, licensing, or acquisitions
- Serve as executive sponsor and thought leader, representing NeoGenomics externally with health system executives, payers, technology vendors, and industry stakeholders
- Monitor market intelligence, competitive dynamics, and regulatory trends (including AI regulation) to continuously inform strategy and investment
- Additional projects and responsibilities as determined by the VP National Accounts & Digital Health / NeoGenomics’ executive leadership
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree (e.g., MHA, MPH, MS in Data Science/Health Informatics) strongly preferred
- 12+ years of progressive experience in digital health, AI/technology strategy, or healthcare commercial leadership, including 7+ years of people leadership/management experience and demonstrated ownership of P&L and/or significant budget accountability
- Proven track record of building and scaling digital health and/or AI solutions and platforms in complex, matrixed healthcare markets, from pilot to enterprise scale
- Demonstrated experience owning P&L, building business cases, and managing budget/investment decisions for technology or digital health portfolios
- Direct experience designing and operationalizing AI governance frameworks, including data privacy, model risk, and responsible AI practices in a regulated healthcare environment
- Deep understanding of healthcare ecosystems, including reimbursement, provider workflows, EHR/CRM/PHM systems, interoperability standards, and patient engagement
- Executive-level leadership, communication, and influence skills; experience presenting to senior executives and/or the Board
- Proven experience building, leading, and developing multi-layered commercial or technical teams, including managers of managers
- Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally across Sales/BD, Product, Data Science/AI Engineering, Medical Affairs, Finance, Legal/Compliance, and IT/Security
- Strong negotiation skills, including structuring technology, data, and strategic partnership agreements
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; comfortable operating with ambiguity in an emerging, fast-changing space
- Expertise in digital health and AI solution integration into clinical and operational environments
- Proven oral, written, telephone, and executive presentation skills
