Job Title: Secondary Mathematics Teacher
School Year: 2026–2027

The Secondary Mathematics Teacher reports to the Principal and provides effective mathematics instruction to secondary students while supporting their individual academic and educational needs.

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with applicable New Jersey standards and the school curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs, abilities, and learning profiles.
• Implement student IEP goals and accommodations, and maintain accurate, timely student records.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated and multisensory approaches, to support student learning and engagement.
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress and communicate concerns and progress with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other professionals to address student learning needs.
• Attend IEP meetings, faculty meetings, professional development, and other required school meetings and activities.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and school programs.
• Supervise students in classrooms and other assigned areas of the school.
• Support the mission, philosophy, policies, and educational goals of The Newgrange School.
• Participate in designated staff meetings, training, parent conferences, school events, and other activities as required by the school calendar.
• Maintain high professional and ethical standards and work cooperatively with colleagues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Administration.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New Jersey instructional certificate or Statement of Eligibility in secondary mathematics instruction.
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to establish and maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs and profiles.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• NJDOE-required fingerprinting and criminal history clearance.
• Other qualifications as determined appropriate by the Principal and/or Executive Director.
