Pay: $25 per hour

Buxmont Academy, a Pennsylvania licensed private academic school, is seeking a part-time social studies teacher to join their dynamic team in Feasterville, PA. If you are a dedicated and caring social studies teacher who enjoys working with at-risk students, has excellent interpersonal skills, and relishes learning and new experiences, this position is for you!

Hours for this part-time position are Monday through Friday, 8am - 12pm. Benefits include 401K retirement plan, free professional development offerings (ACT 48 Credit eligible), Employee Assistance Program, and the opportunity to receive a free graduate certificate in restorative practices from the IIRP Graduate School. Buxmont Academy has 6 campuses in southeastern PA and uses restorative practices to encourage students to grow academically and emotionally. Classes are small with a high teacher to student ratio, and our staff work together as part of an educational team for each student.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• A bachelor's degree or higher level of education, in social studies education or related field.
• PA art or technology education certification, or the ability to obtain private teaching certification.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Desire to teach secondary school-aged students and ability to adapt to their developmental status.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high stress situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The capacity to work effectively both independently and with a team.
• Proficient computer skills.
