Job Description
The Director of Game Operations and Arena Production Tech oversees the company’s day-of-game operations which includes all promotions and corporate sponsorship messages during home Steelheads games. During non-gamedays, this position will be responsible for assisting arena production department and VP sponsorship sales.
Based on research and sales feedback, the director will recommend and implement a game day promotional strategy that is within the budgets, resources, and capabilities of the company.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Idaho Steelheads, Front Street Fights and Idaho Central Arena
- Participate in the development and implementation of yearly Marketing and Sales Strategies for the Idaho Steelheads, Front Street Fights and other Idaho Central Arena events with supervisors.
- Oversee the game day operations crew for the Idaho Steelheads home games and Front Street Fights. This includes hiring of promotions interns, on-ice emcee, public address announcer, mascot and game day production coordinator.
- Participate in the overall event show for Idaho Steelheads and Front Street Fights produced events. This includes creative design and concept of scripts, lights and staging.
- Work in tandem with the VP of Sponsorship Sales to implement Idaho Sports Properties and Block 22 LLC sponsorship programs into marketing strategies.
- Work directly with television crew for Idaho Steelheads, Front Street Fights and other Idaho Central Arena events. Duties include television rundown, traffic, graphics and hiring of on-air talent.
- Participate in the design and look of the Idaho Steelheads’ brand. This includes ensuring Brand continuity with advertising and marketing messages.
- Lead for providing content for fulfillment of sponsorship wrap-up books for the Idaho Steelheads, Front Street Fights and Idaho Central Arena Sponsorships. Work with interns for gameday/event photos for sponsorship wrap-ups through Trak Software.
- Assist arena production department with special events such as concerts, basketball games, family shows and other events as assigned. Will help set up events to include drape, lights, sound and video.
- Job duties will include attendance at Idaho Steelheads, Front Street Fights and other Idaho Central Arena events. Schedule to be worked out with supervisors.
- Opportunity to sell sponsorships, group tickets, season tickets and suites to companies and individuals for the Steelheads, Front Street Fights and other teams or events as directed by your supervisor.
- Participation in weekly sales meetings, event planning, franchise think tanks and other meetings as requested by your supervisor.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Proven leadership in event production, operations, and promotional strategy within a sports or entertainment venue.
- Experience in live event planning, in game entertainment, or sports marketing.
- Strong understanding of sponsorship fulfillment, in arena presentation, and production timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage high-pressure, live event environments.
- Experience with lighting, sound, and video equipment setup preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
- Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods during events.
