Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Marketing Scientist based in the United States.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on turning sophisticated marketing measurement into decisions that drive profitable growth.
You will manage the measurement journey for a portfolio of large, complex ecommerce brands, working across testing, modeling, attribution, and strategic analysis.
Your work will help senior marketing leaders understand what is truly driving incremental business impact and where budgets should be allocated.
You will translate complex analytical findings into clear, practical recommendations for both technical and executive audiences.
The role sits at the intersection of Marketing Science, Data Science, Product, and Customer Success, giving you broad cross-functional exposure.
You will work in a fast-moving environment where measurement practices are continually evolving and new solutions are built alongside customer delivery.
This is an opportunity to combine real-world marketing expertise, analytical thinking, and executive communication to shape how sophisticated brands make growth decisions.
- Own the end-to-end measurement journey for a portfolio of large-scale brands, from customer kickoff and test design through analysis, interpretation, and strategic recommendations.
- Build, interpret, and translate marketing measurement outputs, including Marketing Mix Models (MMM), incrementality tests, and attribution analyses, into actionable decisions around channel mix, budget allocation, and growth strategy.
- Design measurement strategies based on each customer's media mix, investment levels, business objectives, and highest-priority business questions.
- Evaluate findings across confidence levels, null results, halo effects, attribution gaps, and cross-channel relationships, making complex results understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
- Apply strong working knowledge of major paid media and advertising channels, including Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, CTV, OOH, Linear TV, Retail, AppLovin, and similar platforms.
- Help brands understand differences between platform-reported performance and true incremental business impact across complex omnichannel environments.
- Translate channel-specific performance questions into broader strategic recommendations around incrementality, customer acquisition, and investment allocation.
- Support high-value prospective customer conversations as a measurement subject matter expert, connecting analytical capabilities to real-world business challenges.
- Identify recurring customer challenges and provide actionable feedback to Product teams, distinguishing genuine product limitations from education or operational-context gaps.
- Incorporate real customer and organizational context into product and measurement decisions, helping ensure analytical insights can be effectively implemented.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing Science, Data Science, Product, and Customer Success teams to continuously improve measurement strategies and customer outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of measurement approaches and operating practices in an environment where the playbook continues to evolve.
- Demonstrated experience operating at meaningful marketing scale, with direct accountability for marketing performance and business outcomes rather than solely providing agency or advisory services.
- 5+ years of experience running or closely overseeing paid media across Meta, Google, TikTok, or comparable platforms at significant scale.
- Strong understanding of marketing measurement methodologies, including last-click attribution, multi-touch attribution (MTA), Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), and incrementality testing, with the ability to understand when each approach is most appropriate.
- Experience evaluating or acting on incrementality test results, such as GeoLift, holdout tests, or synthetic control methods, where findings directly influenced a real-world budget or marketing decision.
- Ability to explain statistical concepts such as test confidence, null results, attribution gaps, and measurement limitations in clear, accessible language.
- Strong understanding of paid media platform mechanics, attribution windows, reporting limitations, and the differences between platform-reported results and actual incremental impact.
- Demonstrated omnichannel marketing fluency across DTC, Amazon, wholesale, retail, and other offline and digital environments.
- Ability to understand the measurement challenges created by complex omnichannel business models and avoid applying digital-only frameworks where they do not fit.
- Exceptional executive communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage CFOs, CMOs, media buyers, and other senior stakeholders while adapting communication to different levels of technical expertise.
- Strong consulting, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous questions into practical business recommendations.
- Comfortable challenging assumptions and communicating difficult findings, including null results or recommendations that may contradict existing stakeholder expectations.
- High level of credibility, ownership, curiosity, and commercial judgment, with a strong focus on customer outcomes.
- Comfortable working in an environment where processes and best practices are continuously being developed and refined.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and willingness to contribute to product development and broader organizational priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment where speed, candor, adaptability, and continuous learning are highly valued.
- Fully remote work environment.
- Opportunity to work with sophisticated ecommerce brands generating approximately $50M–$500M+ in annual revenue.
- High-impact individual contributor role with significant ownership over customer measurement strategies and business recommendations.
- Exposure to advanced marketing measurement methodologies, including MMM, incrementality testing, and attribution analysis.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Marketing Science, Data Science, Product, and Customer Success teams.
- Opportunity to influence product direction through direct customer insights and real-world measurement challenges.
- Fast-paced, highly collaborative environment focused on moving quickly and delivering measurable customer value.
- Strong emphasis on customer impact, transparency, curiosity, integrity, empathy, and continuous improvement.
- Opportunity to help shape emerging measurement practices rather than simply following an established playbook.
- Meaningful exposure to executive-level stakeholders and strategic marketing decisions.
- Equal opportunity workplace committed to diversity and inclusion.
