Job Description

VP, Insights and Analytics

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Insights and Analytics based in the United States.

This executive role will lead the strategy, operating model, and delivery of an enterprise-wide analytics ecosystem within a complex healthcare environment.
You will transform disparate data sources into trusted, scalable platforms and actionable insights that support employers, brokers, and internal leaders.
The role combines analytics leadership, data governance, technology strategy, and business partnership, with accountability from source-data quality through insight delivery.
You will shape reporting capabilities across sales, operations, finance, clinical functions, and business development while supporting data-driven decision-making.
A major focus will be standardizing data, strengthening governance, and integrating information from multiple systems and acquired organizations.
You will also build and develop a high-performing analytics organization and establish a disciplined, agile approach to delivery at scale.
Reporting to the CIO, you will serve as a visible strategic leader who connects technology, analytics, and business outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and evolve the enterprise analytics strategy, including data platforms, governance, operating models, delivery standards, roadmaps, priorities, and success metrics.
  • Serve as the executive owner for analytics outcomes, ensuring insights are accurate, consistent, scalable, trusted, and aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Develop and strengthen employer and broker reporting capabilities, delivering differentiated analytics that clearly communicate value and support client decision-making.
  • Partner with Sales to develop prospect, broker, pipeline, and sales-effectiveness analytics that improve growth opportunities and commercial performance.
  • Collaborate with Operations to define and mature KPIs covering performance, cost drivers, service levels, client health, and margins.
  • Partner with Finance to deliver revenue-retention, margin, forecasting, and other financial analytics that support executive decisions.
  • Work with Case Management and Utilization Management teams to develop clinical analytics for internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • Support Business Development with data-driven acquisition analysis, due diligence, and post-acquisition data integration.
  • Lead the standardization and integration of acquired-entity data into enterprise data lakes and analytics platforms.
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and evolution of enterprise data lakes and analytics platforms supporting reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
  • Establish strong data governance, quality, cleanliness, ownership, definitions, validation, remediation, and lineage standards across the organization.
  • Ensure analytics products are built on reliable, well-governed data with transparent definitions and traceable sources.
  • Build, lead, and mature a high-performing enterprise analytics organization with clear accountability, priorities, and delivery standards.
  • Transition the analytics function toward a disciplined, scalable agile delivery model aligned with SAFe-like principles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scalability, efficiency, analytics adoption, and business impact across the organization.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of IT leadership experience, including a demonstrated record of digital transformation, cross-functional leadership, and alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience, with strong preference for experience in payer environments, including fully insured and/or self-funded models.
  • Proven experience scaling enterprise analytics capabilities across complex, multi-system environments.
  • Demonstrated ownership of analytics end-to-end, spanning data platforms, governance, delivery, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading teams in agile delivery environments and building disciplined, scalable operating models.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data domains, including claims, eligibility, clinical, provider, and network data.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure-based analytics platforms is strongly preferred, including Azure SQL Server, Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and executive presence, with the ability to establish priorities, build roadmaps, and translate complex technical topics into business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across Sales, Operations, Finance, Clinical, Technology, and Business Development.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, enterprise analytics architecture, and data integration.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational transformation and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong business orientation and judgment, with a focus on delivering accurate, actionable insights rather than analytics for its own sake.
Benefits
  • Base salary of $200,000–$215,000 USD, with compensation determined by experience and qualifications.
  • Potential eligibility for additional compensation, including bonuses and merit increases, depending on role and performance.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Paid time off (PTO) and disability leave.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Opportunity to shape an enterprise analytics function and influence data strategy at the executive level.
  • Exposure to strategic initiatives spanning healthcare, technology, operations, finance, clinical analytics, sales, and business development.
  • Opportunity to lead organizational transformation and build a high-performing analytics team in a growing and complex environment.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to collaboration, diverse perspectives, and equal employment opportunity.
