Job Description
Summary of Duties
The Loan Servicing Specialist utilizes a high level of organizational skills and attention to detail to identify priorities and deadlines and determine work schedules to meet those deadlines for processing loan servicing, tracking, and loan servicing-related payment processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Included but are not limited to:
· Responsible for receiving/requesting, assessing, and distributing payments of the following:
o Summer and Winter taxes
o Homeowners insurance
o PMI
o Life & Disability
o Force Place Insurance
· Responsible for mailing BSP, Foreclosure and RD Default letters
· Responsible for discharging mortgages and releasing or continuing UCC filings
· Process loan denials and withdraws
· Assist branch staff and lenders with maintenances to loans on Horizon
o Payment/ fee reversal and or adjustments
o Mortgage payoff requests
o Unposted transaction corrections
o General questions
· Review closed loans to ensure documentation has been collected and loan was uploaded into horizon correctly
· GL Settlement and reconciliation
Other Functions
1. Familiar with and abides by all bank regulations including but not limited to BSA and OFAC.
2. Adhere and comply with all Bank Policies along with FHLB, Freddie Mac, and USDA Guidelines.
3. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications & Requirements

Education/Certification/Licensing:
· High School Diploma/GED required.
· Advanced education in accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
Experience:
· Minimum requirement of 2 years of banking experience or related experience.
Other Requirements:
· Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image.
· Willingness and flexibility to work in a team setting.
· Requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Must be able to multitask.
· Must possess PC skills at an intermediate level. Ability to use the Internet.
Equipment Used
· PC, laser printer, calculator, copy machine, scanner, mobile devices such as iPad and iPhone or similar.
Software Used
· Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Reader, Mortgage Bot LOS, Outlook, Scanning Sites, Private Mortgage Insurance websites, State of Michigan Website
· Horizon XE, FIS Image Centre, BAI Learning & Development and various other financial institution platform systems.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work in front of a computer for extended periods of hours; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Must be able to travel from location to location throughout the office and to other bank offices, clients, and outside meetings. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
